The Rotary Regional Leadership Summit for Peace Conference was held in Gettysburg April 17 - 19, 2026. Peace and unity were the key theme throughout the weekend.
The close to 400 attending Rotary Members experienced part of the Lincoln Leadership Institute on Saturday of the conference. Phenomenal education PLUS we met a President of the United States who shared the Gettysburg Address!
This was my first Rotary Conference and was told this was a different conference than others in many ways.
Chris Etienne, Rotary International Director for Zones 28 and 32, spoke Friday and Saturday evenings. Along with her message, she shared that this is the only conference that was co-created by seven districts. The District Governors put together a fabulous training weekend for us.
Aside from meeting Rotary Members from all over the region, we connected with many from District 7430, forming bonds, sharing ideas, building relationships.
It was wonderful to see an outpouring of the Youth Exchange Students, those here now and outbound. We were sure to catch up with our Rotary Youth Exchange Student, Sarah di Lis, as she formed many new friendships as well.
The Gettysburg Rotary Club was presented with a Peace Pole pictured below.
Sunday morning we spent as a District 7430. They honored those from the District who had passed away this past year. Our new District banner is below highlighting our seven areas of focus.
Introductions were made for upcoming District Leadership:
DGE (Elect), Jeremiah Sensenig of West Reading – Wyomissing Rotary Club, who I met through Rotary Leadership Institute (RLI) class last year.
DGN (Nominee), Jean McGill of the Easton Club.
DGND (Nominee Designate), Loretta Otting of the Fleetwood Club.
Next year’s District Conference will be in Reading PA with one or two additional Districts on the same weekend.
