Recent Souderton-Telford Rotary meetings have been filled with inspiring stories, engaging speakers, and opportunities to learn from one another.
We were especially encouraged by the year-end presentation from the Souderton Area High School Interact Club. Club members shared highlights from a productive year of service and the many ways they are making a positive impact in our community. Their enthusiasm, leadership, and commitment to helping others were truly impressive.
We also had the privilege of hearing from Souderton Area High School student Sawyer Jones, recipient of the 2026 Jim Church All-Star Football Award. The annual $250 award recognizes the player who best exemplifies Rotary’s Four-Way Test both on and off the field. The award honors the memory of Jim Church, a former Souderton-Telford Rotarian and longtime WNPV Radio sports broadcaster who spent 43 years championing local athletes and sports programs. Congratulations to Sawyer on this well-deserved recognition!
At the same meeting, Jean Wieder shared highlights from her experience attending the recent Rotary District Conference in Gettysburg, offering insights and inspiration from Rotarians across the region.
One of our most enjoyable meetings featured a new program format called the “3-Minute Drill.” Ten members each had three minutes to speak on a topic of their choice. Presentations covered a wide range of subjects, including global warming, the recent Rotary Public Health Summit, a family connection to the Titanic, the Indian Valley Education Foundation’s 10,000 Flowers Project at Souderton Area High School, Rotary scholarship recipients, the Jamaica Scholarship Program, traveling through Rotary, retirement goals, and the joys of grandmothers and gardening. The variety of topics highlighted the diverse interests and experiences within our club.
Most recently, we welcomed representatives from Fres-co, who introduced us to their innovative packaging company. We learned about their patented food packaging technologies and their commitment to supporting women in industrial careers through recruitment, mentorship, and professional development opportunities in the manufacturing sector.
From celebrating student achievement to learning about innovative businesses and hearing the unique stories of fellow members, it has been a series of outstanding Rotary meetings.
