Through her years of volunteer service, leadership, and advocacy, Jean has embodied Rotary's motto of Service Above Self, inspiring countless individuals through her example.
During her acceptance speech, Jean shared a powerful message that resonated deeply with those in attendance. Using the image of a puzzle, she reminded everyone that each person has a unique role to play in strengthening our communities:
"You are a piece of the puzzle. You are a piece of the solution to the needs of your local community and beyond. When everyone is doing their part, the puzzle is whole and you can see the bigger picture. When there's a gap, the picture is incomplete. We are that puzzle piece in our communities and the world to make a difference in someone's life today."
Jean encouraged attendees to recognize their own value and potential to create positive change:
"YOU have a place in the world. You can help to make it better. YOU matter. YOU make a difference. What is your piece in the world around you? Don't let what you cannot do stop what you can do."
